Originally a working group of the Vancouver Urban Core Community Workers Association, since 1993 the Transit Working Group (TWG) has grown to represent a number of homeless services and tables throughout the Lower Mainland.

We all have places we need to go; and with people struggling with homelessness it’s the very basics: access to shelter, food services or critical financial or health care appointments.

After researching transit models in other municipalities and holding discussions with transit key-actors, homeless individuals and homeless service providers, the TWG put forward The Regional Transit Working Group Transit Proposal to address the importance of transit in exiting homelessness, accessing shelter, medical, employment and housing appointments.
